Participants will learn the basic skills in CPR and how to manage a variety of different choking victims. Students will also find out how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation with patients developing additional complications such as changing level’s of consciousness and regurgitation. Candidates will also learn the basic skills on how to utilize an AED which is a major component of any CPR program in Canada. All of the applicants that finish this program get a St Mark James CPR “C” and AED award that meets a variety of official certification standards. All available CPR “C” courses are posted on the bottom of this page. This course is for CPR accreditation exclusively and includes no first aid training or certification. If you are required to have first aid certification with CPR we recommend you take standard or emergency first aid (both courses include CPR training). Course Duration:
The length of cardiopulmonary resuscitation level “C” depends on the skill level and the size of the course. Large classes with a low skill level typically take 6 hours to complete. The minimum required class time is 5 hours.

Program Content:
Individuals enrolled in this course will learn about the latest CPR techniques for infants, adults and children as recommended by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). Participants will learn about fundamental cardiovascular system emergencies, legal facets of engaging in CPR and basic specifics of the emergency medical system (EMS).

Official Certification
Virtually all students (over 95%) pass the CPR “C” program with no trouble. At completion students will get a workplace approved CPR “C” and AED award which satisfies numerous certification prerequisites and conditions. All certs remain applicable for 3 years. Toronto First Aid also has re-certification courses.
