Emergency First Aid and CPR Class Duration

The length of an emergency first aid training course is dependent upon the number of participants and skill level of the candidates. The level of CPR training partnered with the course can also affect the length of the program. Emergency first aid and CPR lessons vary between 8-10 hours. This first aid course is frequently completed within one entire day. Toronto First Aid also offers this course in a two day course (4 hours each day).

Emergency First Aid Course Content

  • Cardiovascular system emergencies such as heart attacks and strokes. Candidates will learn to recognize and manage serious circulatory emergencies.
  • Skeletal Injuries. These injuries include broken bones, fractures and other bone related injuries. Candidates will learn to recognize, manage and immobilize these injuries.
  • Major and minor wound treatment including cuts, scrapes and lacerations.

Official Certification and Re-Certification

Individuals that pass emergency 1st aid and CPR will receive a card stating that you have completed the training course. This certificate also states education in CPR and also the use of AED’s. Certificate provided satisfy all government, academic and workplace standards for emergency first aid training.
